Documentation of a durational performance piece, first performed at the Pipe Factory in Glasgow and then at the Embassy Gallery in Edinburgh.
This work explored ideas of gender, othering, and the body as material. Each performer was asked to think about the word Occupy and its relation to body, space, and environment:
- fill or take up (a space or time)
- fill or preoccupy (the mind)
- enter and stay in (a building) without authority and often forcibly, especially as a form of protest.
Therefore, these genderless forms occupied various spaces within a gallery context; to ultimately question the balance of power and visualise the position of the Other within society.
