Documentation of a durational performance piece, first performed at the Pipe Factory in Glasgow and then at the Embassy Gallery in Edinburgh.
This worked explored ideas of taking up space, gender performativity and body as material. Each performer was asked to think about the word Occupy and its relation to body, space and environment:
- fill or take up (a space or time)
- fill or preoccupy (the mind)
- enter and stay in (a building) without authority and often forcibly, especially as a form of protest.
These genderless form therefore occupied various spaces within a gallery context; to ultimately question societal power relations and visualise the position of Other.
